The new features in this latest software upgrade are:- Logical Channel Numbering All channels are now assigned the number that the broadcasters have pre-assigned. The older version will only assign channels in numerical order as it finds them during a channel search. Aspect Ratio Button The TV/AV button will now work as the aspect ratio button. You can change the screen aspect ratio to 16:9, letterbox or normal 4:3 by pressing the TV/AV button on the remote control. Note: the DSE G7654 already has this functionality. Time Offset Table Local time zones are now listed and automatically assigned. The set top box will receive the time from the broadcaster. Country code is no longer used. Genre If available, each program will be assigned a category/type. For example, MOVIE, NEWS, ENTERTAINMENT, SPORT, CHILDREN’S, MUSIC, ARTS/CULTURE, CURRENT AFFAIRS, EDUCATION/INFORMATION, INFOTAINMENT, SPECIAL, COMEDY, DRAMA, DOCUMENTARY. Linkage Descriptor For services that provide a link to another channel when not in service, the STB will follow the link to the new channel. HD Service Not Available As per Digital TV Committee guidelines, HD services should not be displayed for a SD box. Telext / Closed Captions fixed timing of closed captions to suit Australian standards.
