Canberra & Wollongong viewers to re-scan digital receivers following WIN change WIN Television has advised DBA that the changes it proposes to make to its Modulation Parameters in Canberra/ACT and Wollongong/Illawarra will take effect on Tuesday 17 February next.

The changes will make it necessary for viewers in those areas to re-scan their digital TV receivers.

WIN has already made similar changes to its network in other parts of Australia. WIN will also be providing some onscreen advice for its digital viewers in the days leading up to the change.
Transmission Australia (TXA) has advised DBA that, due to significant problems with the installation of transmission equipment on the Gold Coast, the expected date for the start of commercial digital television transmissions from the two transmission sites servicing the Gold Coast has been delayed.

The broadcast of commercial digital TV services from Mt. Tamborine and from the Currumbin transmission site had been expected to begin before the end of the first quarter 2004, but TXA contractors responsible for the installation and commissioning of necessary transmission infrastructure have experienced major difficulties on site.

A delay of some months is now expected.

TXA regrets the delay but will not be able to provide any information about a possible commencement date for another 2-3 weeks, when contractors have re-assessed the situation.

The ABC and SBS have been transmitting digital TV services to the Gold Coast and Currumbin for some time and these services remain unaffected.
The ABC wishes to advise that ABC Digital Television in Wollongong is changing channels to improve digital coverage throughout Wollongong and the Illawarra region.

ABC Digital TV will change to UHF 52 on 15 January. The service transmit from Brokers Nose on:

Frequencies: 694-701 MHz
Polarisation: Horizontal
MAX ERP: 1.25kW Directional

To continue to view ABC Digital TV, residents will need to rescan their digital receivers from 15 January.

If these broadcasts cause interference to other radio communications or if you require further information please call: 1300 13 9994

or write to:
